Today I am bringing another painting.
Esta pintura começou com um fundo de aguarelas, embelezado com detalhes em aguarelas metálicas. Esses detalhes são as folhas verdes do fundo e os castanhos em baixo.
This painting started with a watercolor background, embellished with metallic watercolor details. These details are the green leaves on the background and the browns at the bottom.
A pintura ficou assim, meia no abstrato. Gostava dela, mas era aquele ponto de interrogação no meu íntimo! Revia muitas vezes e sim era bonita, mas....
I left the painting at that, a little abstract. I liked it, but that question mark lingered in my gut! I looked at it many times ans yes I was very fond of it, but...

Until, as a follow-up of my last canvas
deu-me vontade de pintar flores em tinta acrílica dourada.
I felt the will to paint flowers with the golden acrylic paint.
Já tinha andado a matutar algum tempo nestas flores, mas não sabia muito bem que fundo ia pintar. Gostava de voltar a fazer algo como este quadro que fiz há muito muito tempo:
I had been pondering on the flowers for some time, but I didn't really know what background to paint. I was wanting to do something like I did on this painting I made a long long time ago:
Um dia a folhear as minhas pinturas para inspiração de fundos, voilá aparece-me este mesmo! O do ponto de interrogação que passou a ponto de exclamação! Ora mistério resolvido! Que fundo tão perfeito para as minhas flores douradas!
One day, going through my paintings for background inspiration, voilá this painting comes up! The question mark became an exclamation mark! Mystery solved! This background was so perfect for my golden flowers!
Mãos à obra, adicionei as flores com as tintas acrílicas, Pintei-as em tons de azul primeiro, depois com uma camada de pérola a deixar passar o azul, e por fim a camada de dourado. Depois desenhei folhas de uma forma subtil, com uma caneta castanha na pintura.
Hands-on, I added the flowers with the acrylic paints. I painted them is blue hues, and then I added a layer of pearl letting the blue show, and finally the layer of gold. Then I drew subtle leaves on the painting with a brown pen.
E as flores nasceram ali, a flutuar naquele fundo que nasceu para elas :)
And the flowers appreared there, floating on that background that was born for them :)
Adoro a forma como quando o sol bate, a pintura brilha :) Os tons dourados mais intensos da tinta acrílica com os tons mais delicados da aguarela metálica!
I love the way the painting shines, everytime the sun shines on it :) The more intense colors from the acrylic paint and the delicate colors from the metallic watercolors!
