Caça-sonhos de renda

Há dias fiz um caça-sonhos de uns panos de renda da minha mãe, já muito velhinhos. Alguns já têm rasgos. Tenho-os guardado para os usar nalgum projeto.

The other I made a lace dreamcatcher from some very old lace fabric doilies of my mom. Some of the doilies were torn. I have kept them to use them in soem project.

Com um bastidor de bordar e um paninho desses, estiquei o pano no bastidor. Cortei o excesso do lado de trás, à volta do bastidor.

With and embroidery hoop and one of those doilies, I stretched the fabric onto the hoop. I cut the excess fabric on the back and around the hoop.

Este projeto não levou cola. A flor de croché foi segura ao parafuso do bastidor com uma fita. Assim, se quiser modificar alguma coisa, é mais fácil.

I did not use glue in this project. The crochet flower is secured onto the screw of the hoop using a ribbon. This way, is I wish to modify anything, it's much easier.

Depois foi usar sobras de fitas e rendas para a cauda do caça-sonhos.

Then I used some scraps of ribbon and lace for the tail of the dreamcatcher.

E cá está ele pendurado na parede do quarto.

And here it is, hanging on the bedroom wall.

Enfeite natural aromático de Outono

Com a chegada do Outono, não resisto a partilhar de novo esta fantástica ideia de um cordão de enfeite feito com fatias de laranja desidratadas e folhas de louro seco, que também funciona como repelente de insetos:

Enfeite com materiais reciclados

Uma das coisas que gosto de fazer é ver o que guardei de outros projetos e ver o que posso criar de novo.

One of the things I like to do is to go over the stash I have kept from other projects and see how I can create something new.

Assim foi com este enfeite.

This was the case of this ornament. 

Tinha a "moldura" feita com cartão corrugado e o passarinho de feltro grosso que havia guardado doutros projetos.

I had this "frame" made in corrugated cardboard and the little birdie made in thick felt, that I have kept from other projects.

O paninho enrolado a fazer um pergaminho havia sido de uma moldura que entretanto foi remodelada.

The little scrap of cloth rolled up into a scroll was from a shadowbox that in the meanwhile was remodelled.

A combinação destes 3 elementos fez um enfeite lindo. Adicionei uma pedrinha para o olho e adicionei uma asa que cortei de um envelope.

The combination of these 3 elements made a beautiful ornament. I added the rhinestone for the eye, and added the wing I cut out from an envelope.

Neste momento está pendurado na cristaleira, mas penso que vai acabar na capa de um caderno no futuro.

At the moment it is hanging from the china cabinet, but I believe it will end up on the cover a journal in the near future.

Transformação de uma caixa de papel

Gosto de guardar as fitas e rendas em caixas de papel recicladas.

foi uma caixa de Mon Cheri para guardar uma fitas que ainda vagueavam pela mesa. Aquele vermelho brilhante destoava com as outras, mas ainda não tinha encontrada a inspiração para a sua transformação!

was a Mon Cheri box to keep some ribbons that still wandered on my table. That bright red stuck out like a sore thumb among the other boxes, but I still hadn't found the inspiration for its upcycling!

Foi então que há dias encontrei este tutorial no Graphics Fairy que transformavam caixas de bombons:

Ora aí estava a inspiração que precisava! Munida de esponjas e tinta acrílica branca, lá fui esponjando a caixa. Podia ter usado um pincel, mas a esponja dá uma melhor cobertura além de conferir textura. Usei um secador de cabelo para acelerar o processo de secagem.

So there was the inspiration I needed! Supplied with sponges and white acrylic paint, I started sponging the box. I could have used a paintbrush, but the sponge gives a better coverage while also confering texture. I used a hair dryer to accelerate the drying process.

Com uma outra esponja passei pigmento acastanhado nas bordas da caixa. Algum de vermelho de baixo tingiu suavemente a tinta branca, ficando um efeito interessante.

With another sponge I dabbed brown pigment on the edges of the box. Some of the red below softly tinted the white paint, giving it an interesting effect.

Imprimi os rótulos do tutorial e recortei um deles:

I printed the labels on the tutorial and cut one of them out:

Colei o rótulo com cola de decoupage. Quando secou, passei a esponja com o pigmento acastanhado nas bordas do rótulo.

I glued the label on with decoupage glue. When it was dried, I dabbed the sponge with brown pigment around the edges of the label.

Para finalizar colei uma tira de renda à volta da tampa com cola branca.

To finalize, I glue a trim of lace around the lid of the box with white glue.

E violá, a caixa vermelha de Mon Cheri ficou transformada e já não destoa na torre das caixas :D

And voilá, the red Mon Cheri box is now upcycled and does not stick out anymore among the tower of boxes :D

Foi super divertido!

Vaso pequeno personalizado

Sabem aqueles vasos pequenos de barro com flores artificiais? Pois é, com os anos as flores vão-se deteriorando mas o vaso fica... lá se vai a teoria das plantas eternas :P nem as artificiais são eternas eheheh

Do you know those mini clay pots with artificial flowers? Well as it turns out, the flowers wore out but the clay pot endured on... there goes the theory of eternal plants :P not even the artificial ones are eternal eheheh

Então, este pequeno vaso sobreviveu e ficou só, arrumado numa gaveta à espera que eu me lembrasse dele. E veio finalmente o dia que olhei para ele e porque não dar-lhe uma nova vida!

This little pot survived and was all alone, kept away in a drawer waiting for me to remember it. And then came the day that I looked at it and why not give it a new life!

E como é normal com todas os reinícios dar um novo look... este vaso sofreu uma pinttura :) Usei tinta acrílica branca, com um pouco de laranja e vermelho para dar este ar de barro mais esbranquecido. Pintei-o por fora e também na borda de dentro.

As with all start-overs I give it a new look... this vase was painted :) I used acrylic paint in white, a little orange a little red to give a whitish terracotta look. I painted it on the outside and on the inside brim.

Depois com a tinta branca, fiz um folho faz de conta na parte de cima do vaso.

Then with the white paint, I painted a sort of frill on the top of the vase.

Agora o vaso tem uma nova vida, com um ramo de flores secas que reciclei de uma coroa de flores daquelas das feiras medievais. Estas flores já as tenho há 10 anos! Vamos ver se são eternas ;)

Now the little clay pot has a new life, with a pretty little bouquet of dried flowers I recycled from a flower crown, those from the medieval fairs. I have these flowers for 10 years! Lets see if these are eternal ;)

Reciclar tubos de baunilha

Hoje trago-vos algumas ideias de como se pode reutilizar os tubos onde vêm as vagens de baunilha. Além de terem um aroma agradibilíssimo, prestam-se bem a armazenar missangas e como itens decorativos.

Today I bring some ideas on how to reuse those glass tubes where vanilla pods come in. Besides having a superb aroma, they lend themselves very well to store bead and even be used as decorative items.

Aqui há dias andei a apanhar a flor de uma alfazema que temos por aqui e depois de estar bem seca, coloquei dentro dos tubos de baunilha:
