Capa para herbário

Aos poucos e poucos o meu herbário vai tomando forma 🕮⚘

Slowly my herbarium is starting to take form 🕮⚘

Comecei por fazer a capa de uma caixa de cereais. Cortei as abas e este caixa em particular serve perfeitamente para um caderno A5.

I started making the cover from a cereal box. I cut the edges and this particular box fits perfectly a A5 sized journal.

 

Pintei a caixa com tinta acrílica branca.

I painted the box with white acrylic paint.

Como a caixa tem uma abertura num canto, decidi aproveitar a abertura. Assim em vez de colar directamente a capa na caixa, cortei a capa a meio para melhor dispor as duas partes. 

Since the box has an aperture on the edge, I decided to take advantage of the aperture. So instead of directly gluing the cover to the box, I cut the cover in half to better display both sides. I cut the half with the yellow flowers into a smaller size.

Tive de cortar as bordas de fora de cada metade à medida para ficar como desejava. Parte da metade com a vegetação também serviu para cobrir a lombada.

I cut the outer edges of each half to size to fit as I liked. Part of the vegetation half also served to cover the spine.

Tinha uma folha em forma de coração prensada e colei no meio de fita cola invisível. 

I had a pressed heart-shaped leaf and I glued between some magic tape.

Gosto de aproveitar o plástico das janelas dos envelopes e desta vez fez-me jeito para cobrir a abertura com a folha prensada no meio e uma flor prensada em cima.

I like to keep the plastic from the envelope windows and this time they came in handy to cover the aperture with the pressed leaf in the middle and a pressed flower on top.

Depois colei o plástico e finalmente a capa a tapar a extremidade do plástico.

Then I glued the plastic and finally the cover over the edge of the plastic.

Quando a capa estava seca, com as brush pens e um pincel húmido, passei uma mistura de castanho e verde azeitona nas extremidades da capa. No final colei renda e uma folha de carvalho prensada.

When the cover was dry, with the brush pens and a wet brush, I colored the edges of the cover with a mixture of brown and olive green. Finally, I glued some lace and a pressed oak leaf.

No interior fiz uma colagem usando algumas das imagens que vão estar no herbário.

For the inside of the the cover, I made a collage of some of the images that will in the herbarium.

Usei uma capa de cd para fazer uma janela com plantas prensadas. Colei na capa interior. Depois tarde de mais, lembrei que podia ter colado apenas as bordas à capa e fazer um bolso, mas já não foi a tempo 😝

I used a cd cover to make a pressed plant window. I glued on the inside of the cover. Too late then, I remembered I could have glued only the edges to the cover to make a pocket, but it was just too late 😝
