Decoração de verão

Gosto de decorar a casa consoante a estação do ano. Estamos no mês de Junho que anuncia o verão!

I like to decorate the home according to the season of the year. We are in June now which announces summer!

Aqui ficam algumas das minhas dicas para uma decoração ligeira para o verão :o)

Here are some of my tips for lightly decorating for summer :o)

Na marquise da cozinha, bate os raios de sol pela manhã! Então no verão costumo fazer um suncatcher (literalmente significa caça-raios-de-sol), e penduro na janela da marquise.

In the kitchen's marquise, the rays of sun hit the window each morning! So in the summer, I usually make a suncatcher and hang it on the window.

Para este suncatcher, usei fio de croché bege e fiei nele uma concha de croché com uma grande pérola plástica no centro. Depois fui fazendo nós e fiei contas semitransparentes no fio. Mais ou menos a meio, fiei uma estrela-do-mar em croché endurecida com cola branca, e continuei com conchas e contas até ao fim do fio.
For this suncatcher, I used bege cotton thread and threaded a crocheted seashell with a large plastic pearl in the center. Then I knotted the thread and threaded some semitransparent beads onto it. Half way through, I threaded a crocheted starfish that was stiffened with white glue, and I continued to thread the seashells and beads until the end of the thread.

Para a entrada, pendurei duas conchas de feltro com pérolas plásticas no canto do espelho. Ficaram por cima de um cordão de fio renda (parecido com aquele fio renda geniale da Cisne):
For the hall, I hung two felt seashells with plastic pearls on one corner of the mirror. They nested on top of a cord of lace thread (similar to the lace thread geniale by Cisne):

Para a mesa de canto da entrada, usei esse conjunto de naperons em forma de concha que fiz.

For the hall corner table, I used this set of seashell shaped doilies I crocheted.

No quarto, pendurei um coração de tecido que fiz no canto do espelho, por cima de um cordão de fio renda e de um cordão de pérolas plásticas.

For the room, I hung a fabric heart I made on the corner of the dresser's mirror, nested on a cord of lace thread and on a cord of plastic pearls.

Usei um dos recipientes do castiçal para conchas.
I used one of the candlesticks for seashells.

E na borda da janela do quarto, usei esse caminho que gosto imenso e coloquei um cesto com conchas e bocados de madeira da praia. Ao lado um vaso transparente de vidro com flores em juta.
And on the bedroom's window sill, I used this runner that I am so fond of and put a basket of seashells and driftwood. Besides it is a transparent glass vase with flowers crocheted from twine.

Tela gigante com flores

Como mencionei no post do último resumo, tenho andando a pintar algumas telas. O maridão comprou para mim brincar uma série de telas de diversos tamanhos e veio uma enorme no conjunto. Para terem uma ideia da dimensão da tela, ela mede 70 de largura por 50 cm de altura.
As I mentioned in my last latest works post, I have been painting some canvases. Hubby bought for me to play a set of different sized canvases and a giant one come in the set. So that you have an idea of its dimension, it is 70 cm wide and 50 cm tall.

Ficou de lado para eu matutar o que faria com ela. Depois de ter queimado uns bons neurónios, decidi pintar umas flores enormes com allium ou dente-de-leão.
I put aside to wonder what I would do with it. After having burnt some brain cells, I decided to paint enormous flowers with allium or dandelions.

A ideia saiu nada igual... a palete de cores deveria ser cinzenta com tons de rosa.., mas como as minha pinturas por norma têm vida própria, esta tela saiu com palete rosa com tons de pérola.
The ideia come out all different... the color palette was supposed to be grey with pink hues... but as my paintings normally seem to have a life of themselves, this canvas resulted in a pink color palete with pearl hues.

 Não sei muito bem como, mas ao misturar as tintas acrílicas para fazer cinza estava teimosa em meter lá o vermelho e saiu o fundo em lilás rosa. Depois decidi meter as flores em rosa, claro está! A ideia de usar detalhes dourados, usando tinta acrílica dourada, transformou-se em vez disso em usar tinta pérola (adoro, adoro, adoro) para os retoques nas pétalas e estames.
I don't exactly know why, but as I mixed my acrylics to make grey I stubborned into adding red into the mix and the background came out a lilac pink. Then I decided to paint the flowers in pink, of course! The idea of using golden details, by using golden metallic acrylic, transformed into using pearl acrylics (I love, love, love) instead for the details in the petals and stamens.

Pintei os caules e os dentes-de-leão. Usei tinta dimensional metálica para dar textura às folhas, estames, dentes-de-leão, etc.
I painted the stalks and dandelions. I then used dimensional paint to given texture to the leaves, stamens, dandelions, etc.

E já que era um quadro à menina mesmo, decidi acabar com swirls de pérolas que colei aleatoriamente entre as flores.

And since it really turned out a girly canvas, I decided to finish up with pearl swirls that I glued on randomly between the flowers.

Pulseira de missangas

Aqui há dias, andava a brincar com missangas e agulhas e cediela, quando fiz esta pulseira.

One of these days, I was playing with beads and needles and nylon thread, when I made this bracelet.

Usei cediela (linha de pesca, na verdade) para fazer a pulseira.

I used nylon thread (in fact, it was fishing line) to make the bracelet.

Usei dois fechos iguais, em vez do fecho e argola, porque de há uns tempos para cá comecei a gostar mais desta forma de fechar as pulseiras. Manias, eu sei!
I used two clasps, instead of a clasp and jump ring, because for some time I have grown fond of securing my bracelets this way. Manias, I know!

Pois aquele que Deus enviou fala as palavras de Deus; porque Deus não dá o Espírito por medida.

Empadão de grão-de-bico e legumes

Durante o fim-de-semana, fiz um empadão de grão-de-bico com legumes. Esta é uma das minhas muitas experiências com farinha de grão-de-bico que costuma sair sempre bem!

During the weekend, I made this chickpea flour and vegetables pie. This is one of my many experiments with chickpea flour that usually comes out great!

Há quase uma década, desde a mudança da nossa alimentação por problemas graves de saúde, que não consumimos ovos em casa. Em alternativa, tenho utilizado linhaça para bolos e farinha de grão-de-bico para empadões. Já andava a algum tempo para postar um empadão, mas quando me lembrava já não havia empadão para fotografar :)

For nearly a decade, since we changed the way we ate due to severe health issues, that we do not consume eggs ate home. Alternatively, I have used flax for cakes and chickpea flour for pies. I had meant to post a pie for some time, but when I remembered there was no more pie to photograph :)

Empadão de grão-de-bico com legumes

• 1 courgete
• 1 cebola
• 1/2 pimento
• 200g farinha de grão-de-bico
• 1 c. sopa de azeite extra virgem (ou óleo de sésamo)
• água q.b.
• sal e pimenta q.b.

1. Pré-aquecer o forno a 200ºC. 
2. Ralar a courgete e a cebola e deitar numa travessa de pirex pequena.
3. Cortar meio pimento aos cubos e juntar aos vegetais ralados. 
4. Temperar os vegetais com sal e pimenta.
5. Numa taça de vidro, deitar 200g de farinha de grão-de-bico.
6. Ir juntando água à farinha aos poucos e ir mexendo com uma vara de arames, até obter a consistência de pudim.
7. Juntar 1 c. de sopa de azeite (ou de óleo de sésamo) à mistura. Temperar com sal e pimenta e mexer tudo com a vara de arames.
8. Juntar a mistura aos vegetais ralados.
9. Levar ao forno durante 30 minutos ou até formar uma crosta dourada.
10. Deixar arrefecer pelo menos 1 hora. Cortar aos cubos e servir. 

Se deixar arrefecer algumas horas, o empadão fica com uma consistência melhor.

Chickpea flour and vegetables pie

• 1 courgette
• 1 onion
• 1/2 bell pepper
• 200g chickpea flour
• 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (or sesame oil)
• water
• salt and pepper to taste

1. Preheat the oven at 200ºC. 
2. Grate the courgette and onion and put them into a small pyrex tray.
3. Cut half a bell pepper into cubes and add to grated vegetables. 
4. Season with salt and pepper..
5. Put 200g of chickpea flour into a glass bowl.
6. Add water to the flour as you whisk it, to obtain a pudding-like consistency.
7. Add 1 tbsp of olive oil (or sesame oil) to the mixture. Season with sal and pepper and whisk everything together.
8. Add the mixture to the grated vegetables.
9. Put in the oven for 30 minutes or until a golden crust is formed.
10. Let cool for at least 1 hour.. Cut into cubes and serve. 

If you let it cool for several hours , the pie will have an improved consistency.

Uma das telas que mais gosto resultou de utilizar a técnica de decoupage numa imagem que imprimi. Depois usando tintas acrílicas, pintei as bordas para fundir com a imagem. As instruções estão no link abaixo.
One of the canvases I like most resulted from using the decoupage technique on a picture I printed. Then using acrylics, I painted the edges to blend with the picture. The instructions are on the link below.

Há muitos anos atrás, usei esta mesma técnica para criar um quadro em tela cartonada. Neste caso selei com verniz transparente. As instruções estão no link abaixo.

Na tela seguinte, quis experimentar as tintas acrílicas metálicas, neste caso o dourado metálico. A ideia era ter um motivos botânicos com tons dourados à mistura. Assim saiu esta tela quasi-abstracta! Apesar de não ser fã de arte abstracta, esta tela agradou-me particularmente.

In the following canvas, I wanted to experiment with metallic acrylics, in this case the metallic gold. The ideia was to have some botanical motifs with gold hues in the mix. This resulted in this quasi-abstract canvas! Although I am not a fan of abstract art, this canvas pleased me particularly.

Recentemente, fiz este cesto de suculentas em croché, garantidas a não picarem nem morrerem :) Com uma combinação de lãs, consegui uma variedade colorida de suculentas! Along with painting, the other art I love is crochet! Recently, I made this basket of crocheted succulents, guaranteed not to prick nor die :) Combining different yarns, I managed a colorful variety of succulents!
